CASN established the annual Pat Griffin Scholar Position In 2011 in recognition of the importance of nursing education research and in order to advance the quality of nursing education through inquiry, mentorship, and dissemination. This annual grant is awarded to an established scholar, with a strong program of research in nursing education.
The CASN Pat Griffin Nursing Education Research Scholar position awards a one-time $10,000 grant to the Scholar who is also invited to present a lecture at CASN Council in the year of selection. The “Pat Griffin Annual Lecture ” is intended to features the Scholar’s particular program of research in nursing education.
The nomination period for the 2013 Pat Griffin Scholar position is now open and CASN is seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:
- a solid program of research in nursing education
- clear evidence of research productivity.
- a strong publication record,
- research supported through external funding,
- dissemination of nursing education research through peer-reviewed presentations,
- a history of being an invited speaker,
- innovation in the creation of scholarly work(s) related to teaching and learning,
- a personal history of mentoring others in the scholarship of teaching, ,
