The theme for the 2015 National Nursing Week is “Nurses: With you every step of the way”. This is a great theme that suggests how central nurses are to the quality of day-to-day health care across Canada. Nurses contribute to the wellbeing of all people, regardless of groups or classifications. Nurses are with Canadians at all points in their lives, when they need them most. And that’s definitely worth celebrating.
Nurse educators often operate in the background preparing the nursing professionals Canadians see every day and giving them the tools they will need as the backbone of health care. So this year during National Nursing Week, let’s also celebrate nurses who are teaching the next generation of nursing professionals, journeying with those who will be caring for us every step of the way.
From May 11-17, celebrate nurse educators with #everystep on Twitter (@CASN43) and Facebook to show your support for the incredible people who are so dedicated to nursing education!
