Every nurse educator has a nursing discipline that fuels their passion and drive for teaching. Our Peer Leaders are champions of digital health nursing, and are our greatest resource for integrating informatics knowledge into undergraduate nursing curriculum. Using their experience, the Peer Leaders are building an online, and in-person community of like-minded technology focused educators.
We have eleven enthusiastic and exceptional Peer Leaders representing all regions across the country. Currently the network has 56 engaged nurse faculty colleagues. The Peer Leaders are working with all of their Colleagues to develop individual learning plans that address each colleague’s goals for enhancing their knowledge of Digital Health. Using their various areas of digital health expertise, the Peer Leaders are able to provide information, advice, support and feedback on content related to the Entry-to-Practice Nursing Informatics Competencies for Registered Nurses.
Additionally, the entire Digital Health Network, Peer Leaders and Colleagues alike, are working to develop a supplementary resource for integrating digital health into nursing curricula. This Consumer Health Solutions resource will offer a series of activities and teaching strategies that can be used by all nursing faculty to augment the digital health portion of their courses.
