CASN is pleased to announce that the 2013 Pat Griffin Nursing Education Research Scholar is Dr. Joanne Profetto-McGrath.
In 2011, CASN created an annual award to support research in nursing education being carried out by a Canadian scholar. Dr. Profetto-McGrathis a highly productive scholar with a passion and commitment to advancing the quality of nursing education in Canada, and has a strong record of mentoring researchers as well as undergraduate student and new graduates. Her research program is built on scholarly inquiry into nursing education with a focus on critical thinking and knowledge utilization regarding Clinical Nurse Specialists’ roles and elder care.
Dr. Profetto-McGrath will receive a $10,000 grant to promote her nursing education research through inquiry, mentorship, and dissemination. Dr. Profetto-McGrath’s program of research in nursing education will be addressed when she provides the “Pat Griffin Annual Lecture at the 2013 CASN Council meeting.
