In recognition of the importance of the research currently underway in nursing education, CASN offers an annual award to an established scholar with a strong program of research in nursing. The intent is to both support and promote nursing education research through inquiry, mentorship, and dissemination.
The CASN Pat Griffin Nursing Education Research Scholar position awards a one-time $10,000 grant to the named Scholar, who will present a lecture at CASN Council in the year of selection; the “Pat Griffin Annual Lecture” is intended to feature the Scholar’s program of research in nursing education.
The nomination period is now open, and CASN is seeking individuals with a strong publication record, experience with peer-reviewed presentations, a history of being an invited speaker, a reputation for innovativeness and the creation of scholarly work(s) related to teaching and learning, a personal history of mentoring, a history of receiving external funding, a solid program of research, and proven research productivity. If you have any colleagues who meet these criteria, CASN invites you to forward their name for consideration to be the Pat Griffin Scholar for 2014.
The deadline for nominations to the Pat Griffin Award is extended for one month and nominations are now due Friday April 11, 2014.
